We have designed and built this semi-trailer especially for the Zeeuwse Library.
Together with bodybuilder Akkermans from Oud-Gastel, a special chassis was designed that met the many demands of the Zeeland library. After thoroughly testing and simulating the possibilities on the computer, as a result the chassis was the basis of this beautiful trailer.
The semi-trailer is fitted with a hydraulically height-adjustable disc plate through which the semi-trailer, coupled to the tractor, can lower to the street level. This creates a floor height of 250 mm. At the rear, the semi-trailer is equipped with independent suspension, so that the axle body is missing. This allows the trailer to sink very far.
At the front of the semi-trailer, hydraulic drive wheels are mounted instead of fixed support legs. This allows the entire trailer to drive away from the tractor. This is operated by a radio control so that one can walk around the trailer while driving.
Naturally, the system is equipped with hydraulic control. As a result, no track rod is necessary.
